Olympia Salvage is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote environmental sustainability, to divert building materials from the waste stream, and to provide affordable alternatives to the consumption of our limited natural resources.
• Salvaging materials for reuse lessens the impact on our landfills as well as the demand for virgin natural resources.
• Materials salvaged for reuse retain their embodied energy, or all the energy
that went into their initial harvest, milling, manufacture and transportation.
• Reusing the wood salvaged from a 2,000 square foot house avoids the production of 500 pounds of green house gasses.
